Hi, I love Fouquieria. I just finally recently picked up a Purpusii this week, and I've had Splendens, Macdougalii, Ochoterenae , and Columnaris for about a year now.

I've read "A Taxonomic Revision of the Fouquieriaceae
, by James Henrickson" multiple times. Any other books anyone could suggest? A quick Google search shows "Robert, Scott The Genus Fouquieria" but I can't find anywhere to purchase or download (only a signed copy on Amazon for 200$).

The book you reference is more a parody of a book. There is Fouq info and snaps, but all kinds of misinformation, misidentified pictures, typos, etc. The pages aren't even in order. I swear I'm not making this up. It is truly hilarious.
Agave
"American aloe plant," 1797, from Greek Agaue, proper name in mythology (mother of Pentheus), from agauos "noble," perhaps from agasthai "wonder at".
