3 species of Ferocactus growing together in Arizona

#1

Post by Will W »

Last summer I stopped at a small range and noticed that all 3 of Arizona's Ferocactus could be observed growing in the same area. Ferocactus acanthodes, F. emoryii and F. wislizeni ajoensis were all photoed while blooming at this location.

In the description of the photos you will notice some are labeled from the Antelope Mnts and S.E Maricopas. I can not find a name associated with these hills on the maps so I made up the names. I started by calling them the SE Maricopas but they seperated from the S. Maricopas. I then started calling them the Antelope Mnts since they are close to Antelope Wash.
