There seems to be a lot of overlap with Agave palmeri? I think I have an idea of true palmeri by looking at isolated specimen in New Mexico(which are typically smaller). Is there a true definition of chrysantha in these examples?

This is one if those odd areas where the plants look a bit like both. 7000’ on the AZT just below Mt. Lemmon:

Based on photos from iNaturalist these plants all flower golden yellow. Quite a bit of mixed identification in the area. Highest elevation specimen I could find but there must be a few higher up.
